If there is anything you want to know about the online news world this conference is the place to learn about it. There will be sessions facilitated by industry leaders and for three days you can brush shoulders with anyone creating the news content you view everyday. ONA11 will also host the 2011 Online Journalism Awards. The OJAs honor excellence in digital journalism around the world.

The ONA11 Student Newsroom immerses college and graduate students in a digital media environment by providing hands-on experience producing content for the ONA11 website before and during the conference under the guidance of professional mentors. Students also have the opportunity to attend sessions led by experts in digital journalism, network with attendees and acquire and flex new digital media skills.
As a member of the Student Newsroom you will also get “perks.” Students selected will receive free conference registration and meals, entry to the Online Journalism Awards banquet and reimbursement for parking and local public transportation. ONA will provide roommate-matching for out-of-town participants at the conference hotel. Transportation and lodging will be covered If a Student Newsroom sponsor signs on.

2. Email a letter of recommendation from a faculty adviser or supservisor and a photo to ONA11studentapp@journalists.org.
